All because two people fell in love…
By Nicole Davis
Back in 2012 was when I had the honour of photographing Tanya & David’s Wedding. Lots of love, friends and family helped make their Wedding a very special and romantic day. The day started for the EAP team at Tanya’s parents home, where the bride was very hands on, fixing hair and make up and helping dress and primp everyone and selflessly and calmly left herself to last. The house was abuzz with excitement and busily getting the final touches before they left in her brothers vintage car. The sun was shining as they drove off, but a dramatic sky was behind them with dark, stormy clouds billowing off in the distance that did not eventuate in rain.
David was waiting for Tanya to arrive at the Ski Club lawns in Mildura, I could see him from afar standing chatting to the celebrant Taryn Hunt. Breaking into laughter to calm the nerves before he watched Tanya arrive in style. The marque was up on the landing all set for the reception and guests made an aisle between the marque and another along the river front. It was picture perfect. Tanya was greeted by her nieces and nephews who gave her a flower they had each chosen, which created the bouquet she proudly carried with her. Her father wrapt his arm, and entwined in Tanya’s to walk her down the aisle. Talking and having a beautiful moment I’m sure neither will ever forget. Finally, Tanya stood before David and what followed was a very emotional and beautiful ceremony that was like four seasons in one day, laughter, crying, soft loving looks and tears of joy.
The next chapter started with a very excited phone call from Tanya, with the extremely exciting news of a baby on the way…. and if we could work together to surprise David with a timeline to capture the pregnancy. Of course, that would be amazing and something I had not been fortunate enough to photograph before. The timeline started at six weeks, I was once again honoured and felt very privileged to be given the task of creating a timeline. I visited Tanya and David’s home, and kept the secret that we were working on such a project. We photographed the timeline in the kitchen, and had to shuffle a small cupboard to the side to make a space, that would be our little studio throughout the pregnancy. Tanya had a love heart chalk board that she recorded the weeks as she progressed. Finally, David and Elih joined the photograph to complete the timeline.
The maternity photography session was lovely and relaxed and took place in David and Tanya’s home. Their home lends it’s self beautifully to a photography session, spoiling me with gorgeous natural light and decorated so stylishly. Really felt like a lifestyle photo shoot that you would find in the pages of a glossy magazine! Even Lulu got dressed up and starred in a few shots in a glamorous white tutu with a diamante band. Tanya had a number of changes in outfits, she started off with a beautiful strapless lilac coloured dress, with a simple chain headpiece which gave it a slight Bohemian feel.
Tanya also wore her actual Wedding dress, a stunning full lace gown with a small train. It looked just as amazing on her for her maternity session as it did on her Wedding day.
Tanya also had another amazing dress that had stunning diamante, beading and lacework that was going to be her Wedding dress, and changed her mind to the full lace gown. Tanya glowed and looked totally radiant in this as you can see, and was special that she could incorporate this dress into her maternity session as well.
Following a few outfit changes at home, Tanya and I packed up the car and went for a drive to get some images that incorporated a beautiful lake nearby. Which I totally love, and Tanya once again was very accommodating and happy to play around with a few ideas I had been dying to try out.
Finally, the most gorgeous little baby boy came along, and we once again photographed in David, Tanya and now….Elih’s home. Photographing in the family home, lent itself to some beautiful relaxed images. With the sun streaming in and filling the home with a beautiful glow. I finally got to use the little chaise I had purchased with newborn sessions in mind. We also were able to photograph in Elih’s nursery as well. One of Elih’s grandparents knitted him a beautiful blanket and a little elephant toy as well. The blanket also had a little elephant head attached to it which was adorable. As a gift to the family I had a little custom crochet “Lulu” complete with a little tutu. She was handmade with a photograph of Lulu to replicate her as a unique little gift, it was crafted by Narissa from OK Crochet. She can be found on Facebook.
THANK YOU to Tanya and David for allowing me to be part of capturing some wonderful events…for choosing EAP to make every ever after moment be captured by Ever After Photos.
Family….all because two people fell in love. xo
